Lash lifts are undoubtedly my most popular treatment with clients. They are also my favourite to do! I love the wow factor my clients get, especially those who have never had one before!

Why? Well, a lot of my clients are shocked at how long their natural lashes actually are and how much the lift opens up their eyes once they see the results! And all I am doing is is perming the lashes with a chemical solution so that they stay in a curled position! The results can be absolutely incredible and a real time-saver in the mornings too!

So today, we're delving into the world of lash lifts and tints, what they are exactly, what the process entails, and why they are such a game-changer in the beauty industry!

1. So what are lash lift and tints? What is the process?

Think of a lash lift as a push-up bra for your lashes! It’s like giving your natural lashes a much-needed curl, lift, and wow factor without the hassle of extensions or falsies.

The process goes a little something like this....

Your beautician will apply a silicone shield to your eyelids (don't worry, it’s not as weird as it sounds). This shield helps shape the curl. Your lashes are then carefully lifted and glued onto the shield, which feels like your lashes are just getting cozy for their spa day.

Next, a lifting solution is applied to your lashes. This is where the real magic happens—it breaks down the bonds in your lashes to reshape them. Then, a setting solution is applied to lock in that new, sky-high curl. Expect a quick break here for the solution to work, so relax, maybe dream about your new lash look.

(I like to give my clients a lovely relaxing hand and arm massage during the times the solutions are working. Depending on the brand used, the whole process can take between 30 mins to an hour.)

Tinting is optional but it's sooo worth it and highly recommended!

Tinting darkens your lashes, making them look even more dramatic—because who doesn’t want that extra pop?

After about 30 minutes to an hour, your lashes are ready for their big debut. Your beautician will remove the shield, and you’ll blink into the mirror to find beautifully lifted, curled lashes staring back at you. No mascara, no curlers, just you and your fabulous new lashes.

2. Long-Lasting Lashes That Command Attention

One of the coolest things about a lash lift is how long it lasts! Say goodbye to mascara that disappears faster than a cookie at a party - with a lash lift, you can have gorgeous, natural-looking lashes for approximately 6-8 weeks!

Everyone's lashes naturally shed over time, and therefore after the 6-8 week period you'll start to notice your new lashes are not curled. As your lashes grow out, the curl gradually fades away—just like how permed hair loses its wave as it grows. So, 6-8 weeks is the perfect time to go back to your beautician for your next lash lift and tint to keep those lashes rocking!! 😀🌟

3. Low Maintenance, High Impact

Lash lifts are perfect for anyone craving gorgeous, low-maintenance lashes, especially if you’re constantly on the go or love hitting the gym. Clients love the fact that they require very minimal up keep and are the ultimate time-saving beauty treatment for the busy woman! 🙌🙂

If you're into keeping things low-key and enhancing your features without going overboard, a lash lift and tint combo is the way to go. Not everyone likes the look and feel of lash extensions, or the faff of attaching falsies every day! It is a brilliant option for those wanting longer-looking lashes without lash extensions or using curlers daily.

4. The Great Lash showdown: Lash lift vs lash extensions.

When it comes to enhancing those lovely lashes, you’ve probably heard of lash extensions too. Both lash lifts and lash extensions can take your lash game to new heights, but they each have their own quirks and benefits. You've seen the pros of lash lifts that I have written above, so let’s break lash extensions for you! 🙂

What are they?

Lash extensions involve attaching individual synthetic or mink lashes to each of your natural lashes for a fuller, longer look. They instantly add volume and length, making your eyes pop!

You can choose from various lengths, styles, and materials to create your perfect lash look, and with proper care lash extensions last approximately 4 weeks, with infills required every 2-3 weeks. Expect the treatment to take around 2 hours, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, depending on the speed of the beautician and how many natural lashes you have 😊 (These appointments can include free naps, just FYI 😆)

Sounds amazing, however there are a few cons to keep in mind when deciding on this treatment:

High Maintenance: Requires regular fills every 2-3 weeks and can be a bit of a commitment.
Weighty Feel: Some people find the extra lashes a little heavy or uncomfortable, like wearing a cute but slightly too tight pair of shoes.
Potential Damage: Improper application or removal can harm your natural lashes, so always go to a professional.

5. How to care for your lash lift for longevity

To make sure your lash lift and tint last as long as possible, just remember to follow these easy maintenance tips:

Avoid getting your lashes wet for at least 24 hours after the treatment to ensure the lift sets properly.
Skip oil-based products near your eyes, as these can break down the tint and lift.
Be gentle when cleansing your face , avoiding rubbing your eyes to prevent premature lifting.
Schedule lash touch-ups every 6-8 weeks to maintain your stunning lash lift.
